Brabus puts its signature flair on a Bentley Continental GT pair
Brabus, the well-known Mercedes-Benz tuners, sometimes experiments with other brands for variety. Yet their interpretation of the Continental GT coupe and the GT Convertible is hard to overlook, even if you skim past the missing Bentley badges. The package features a full carbon aero kit and a powerhouse tuned to 900 metric horsepower under the hood.
Both versions receive updated front and rear fascias. A new front splitter, contrasting air intake surroundings, and a Brabus badge replacing the Bentley emblem catch the eye. Toward the back, the design shifts toward a more aggressive stance with a ducktail spoiler and a diffuser housing quad exhaust tips. Brabus also claims a redesigned exhaust system with improved flow and an adjustable soundtrack.
Under the hood sits the stock 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8, augmented with twin turbos, a higher-performance intake manifold, and an ECU calibration to deliver 900 PS (888 hp / 662 kW) and 1,100 Nm (811 lb-ft) of torque. That’s an increase of 119 PS (117 hp / 88 kW) and 100 Nm (74 lb-ft) over stock.
This extra muscle translates to 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in 2.9 seconds for both the coupe and the convertible, faster than their factory figures of 3.2 seconds and 3.4 seconds respectively. The Continental GT can reach 335 km/h (208 mph) in a straight line, while the GTC is limited to a still-impressive 285 km/h (177 mph). A 20 mm (0.8 in) drop in ride height helps keep handling in check.
One notable point: all pricing details are publicly available. A finished Continental GT kit will cost €489,200 in Germany, and the GTC starts at €538,800. By comparison, a new Continental GT Speed can often be found for under €300,000.
