He stated, "Subsequently, we found out that it was the ICPC that procured the DSS... Nuhu made the call and made the order."
Amidst the controversy, El-Rufai praised the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for their professionalism, contrasting them with the ICPC. He expressed his willingness to honor an invitation from the EFCC, saying, "I'll go and see them."
A Presidential aide, Temitope Ajayi, responded to El-Rufai's statements, expressing concern and highlighting the potential illegality of his actions. Ajayi wrote, "El-Rufai admitted on national television that someone tapped the NSA's phone for him to listen to his conversation."
