Attention all Galaxy Watch 7 users! A new software update has arrived, and it's a big one. Samsung is treating us to the February 2026 security patch, addressing a whopping 37 security issues. That's right, 37! But here's the catch: it's currently only available in South Korea. The update is a substantial 390.13MB in size and carries the firmware version L310XXU2BZB1.
Now, this might seem like a standard security update, but it's actually quite controversial. You see, Samsung has a different policy for its smartwatches compared to smartphones. While we get monthly security updates on our Galaxy phones, the watches only receive them every two to three months. And here's the part most people miss: the Galaxy Watch 7 has been running on the November 2025 security patch until now. So, why the older patch?
Samsung did release details of the March 2026 security patch earlier today, but for some reason, the brand is offering the February update to the smartwatch. It's a bit of a head-scratcher, isn't it?
We're expecting the update to roll out to other countries soon, so keep an eye out! To check for and install the update, simply go to Watch settings > Watch software update and tap Download and install.
So, what do you think? Is Samsung's update policy for smartwatches fair? Or should they be more consistent with monthly updates like smartphones? Let us know your thoughts in the comments!
