Newly released footage has shown the moment Travis Scott was detained by police in Paris following a fight with a bodyguard.
The 33-year-old US rapper – real name Jacques Bermon Webster – has been in the capital city of France for the ongoing Olympic Games, and was taken into custody this morning following an altercation.
As reported by Valeurs Actuelles and Le Parisien, a fight broke out between the two men at 5am local time at the George V Hotel in Paris’ 8th arrondissem*nt.
Police sources are said to have told the outlets that the hip-hop star was ‘drunk’ at the time, and he was arrested for ‘acts of violence’ against the bodyguard.
Now, a video obtained by TMZ shows Scott being dragged away by three cops after ‘violence against a security guard’.
The outlet reports the bodyguard worked at the hotel and the staffer intervened when Scott fought with his personal bodyguard.
Scott is seen complying with the authorities in the footage, as police held him by his arms and escorted him to a vehicle waiting outside.
Handcuffed, Scott bowed his head as the officers maintained a grip on his upper body, all ignoring flashing cameras and questions from reporters.
Upon leaving the premises, cops appeared to push down on Scott’s shoulders to get him into the car.
As per the video, the musician was taken away by an ambulance a few hours later outside of the jail.
In a statement released later on and shared by People, the Paris prosecutor’s officer confirmed Scott’s arrest.
They said: ‘I can confirm that on August 9, 2024, shortly after 5am, the police were called to the Georges V Hotel and arrested the man nicknamed Travis Scott for assaulting a security guard.
‘The latter had himself intervened to separate the rapper from his bodyguard. The 1st judicial police district was seized of the investigation by the Paris prosecutor’s office.’
A representative for Scott added: ‘We are in direct communication with the local Parisian authorities to swiftly resolve this matter and will provide updates when appropriate.’
According to sources close to Scott, he is hoping to be released soon.
It’s also believed that no one was injured during the physical altercation and Scott has not been charged with anything.
Several vases were broken in the hotel, though, hence why Scott was checked out for possible injuries.
Scott’s arrest comes after he was spotted at the basketball semi-final game between the US and Serbia on Thursday evening.
Earlier this summer, Scott was arrested at a marina in Miami Beach and taken into custody on charges of misdemeanour trespassing and public intoxication on June 20.
In bodycam footage released on Thursday by TMZ of his previous arrest, he can be seen telling police officers that he didn’t have any weapons, and simply wanted to ‘secure’ his property.
‘I’m not gonna do nothing – I got no reason to do nothing,’ he said. ‘This is a waste of y’all’s time right now.’
He told them he initially left without getting his possessions because he was ‘scared’ by the vast presence of police, while one of the officers reminded the rapper he had told them he hadn’t left anything on the boat.
He insisted he misspoke due to the stress of the situation, adding: ‘[There’s] 50 cops around me, bro!’
On Thursday, the Sicko Mode rapper also had a disorderly intoxication charge dropped in relation to the incident following a hearing.
However, the state of Florida is still looking to pursue the misdemeanour trespassing charge, with a trial set to start on September 10.
Metro.co.uk understands Scott – who has children Stormi and Aire with ex Kylie Jenner – attended a ‘rowdy party’, although no one was involved in any physical altercation.
A statement to the PA news agency from the Miami Beach Police Department said: ‘The Miami Beach Police Department confirms the arrest of Mr Jacques Webster, DOB 4/30/1991, on June 20, 2024, at approximately 1.44 a.m.
‘Mr Webster was taken into custody following an incident at the Miami Beach Marina located at 300 Alton Road.’
After his arrest, it is understood he paid a $650 (£512) bond, comprising $500 (£394) for the trespass charge and $150 (£118) for disorderly intoxication.
Shortly after Scott’s arrest was reported, he wrote on X: ‘Lol.’ The performer also photoshopped sunglasses and headphones on his mugshot and shared the image on his Instagram Stories.
