Late old school beat 'em ups like AvP, SpikeOut, God Hand, and Fight N' Rage beat them pretty handily actually.

Does anyone else get a headache when playing these games? There's so much to remember that my head literally starts to get sore and I feel fatigued just playing these games.

It’s just sad that it has combat depth, but the devs ignore it. I understand, tho, since it’s quite hard to make it matter in a single-player game without making it abusable. I guess that’s why fighting games exist, they just give up and let players make their own challenge instead

Playing NGB through on Very Hard for the first time now, man they really should have made Hard more difficult because the jump between Hard and Very Hard is fricking moronic. At least I'll get the classic costume when I'm done with it

Ninja gaiden is great but i really hated most boss fight in it
Nioh series fixed this and made bosses actual fun
Would love to see ng4 with fast moment and 1vX high cocaine action of og ng with fun bosses and huge skill tree of nioh without diablo loot autism

It's a stylish action game, whose entire focus is the spectacle of doing combos rather than any sort of puzzle solving or stat number crunch. Character action as a genre name is as vague as Action-Adventure.

I'm not learning fighting game combo strings. Its not fun. Thousands of hours of practice to get tgrough the game correctly sucks.

I don't really like learning combos even in actual fighting games where I get to frick up a human being and that seems like a big part of the depth and appeal for at least DMC and Bayo.
